Adding a Sublocation

A sublocation is part of a location; it is added to a location. To add a sublocation to a location, the Site must allow sublocations. For more information, see "Site Options".

How to Add a Sublocation

To add a sublocation to a location, follow these steps.

Important: To add a sublocation to a location, the site must allow sublocations.

1. Select Manage > Locations from the navigation pane.

2. The Manage Locations page appears.

3. Next, select the Add icon found in the top right portion of the page.

4. The Add Location form appears.

5. Name field (required): Enter a name for the sublocation in the Name field.
6. Description field (optional): Enter a description for the sublocation in the Description field.
7. Site field (required): The Site field is automatically set to the default site of the logged-in user. To change the site for this sublocation, the logged-in user must have access to more than one site and the site must allow sublocations. To change the site, click the drop-down arrow in the Site field and select the site from the options that appear in the drop-down list.
8. Parent Location field (required for a sublocation): Click the drop-down arrow in the Parent Location field and select the parent location from the list that appears. This is the location in which the sublocation will be placed. (To place a sublocation into a location, it must be assigned to a parent location.)

9. RFID Reader Location field (available when the role of the logged-in user has the RFID Tracking feature): Click the drop-down arrow in the RFID Reader Location field and select the RFID Reader LocationRFID Listening Service (RLS) location that contains configured RFID Readers. When using RFID Tracking in IntelliTrack, the RFID Reader Location must be mapped to an IntelliTrack location. In order to map an RFID Reader Location to an IntelliTrack Location, the RFID setting must be ON for the division and role of the logged-in user must contain the RFID Tracking feature. from the list that appears to map this sublocation to the selected RFID Reader Location.

10. Inactive checkbox: denotes active status of the sublocation. When unmarked, the sublocation is active. This checkbox is unmarked when adding a sublocation.
11. Select the Save icon to close the form and save this sublocation.
    1. (To cancel adding this sublocation, discard the information at this form, and close this form, select the Cancel icon.)
12. When you select the Save icon, the Add Location form closes.
13. You are returned to the Manage Locations page, the new sublocation is part of the location list.
14. To view it, click the Expand icon next to the parent location.
15. The Sublocations nested grid appears. The sublocation has been added to it.

Adding an Item to a Sublocation

An item may be added to a sublocation during a physical count (see "Physical Count" for more information) in IntelliTrack Mobile or from the Add Item to Inventory form (see "Add Item to Inventory Form" for more information) in the IntelliTrack web application. When an item is added to a sublocation, the item becomes part of inventory.
